Fire catches runner Green

Track star Jim Green, who hasn't played football since 1967, has signed with the Chicago Fire of the World Football League, the club announced today.

Green, formlerly coholder of the world record in the 60-yard dash, ran three consecutive 100-yard dashess 9.2, 9.2 and 9.1 in 1970. He now competes on the International Track Association pro circuit. Coach Jim Spavital said he would use Green, 25, as a flanker and to return kickoffs.
